Savigny was launched in September 2012 under the auspices of the Greek association e-Themis. It is a non-profit bilingual blog (English, Greek) in which Private International Law news are regularly published. The majority of our editors are graduates of the LLM in Private International and Comparative Law (National and Kapodestrian University of Athens).
In the context of our civil law jurisdiction, Private International Law is defined as a wide concept which includes not only Private International Law stricto sensu (choice of law problems) as well as International Procedural Law, but also Law of Aliens and Law of Nationality. This definition determines the content of the news published which also cover issues of International Arbitration.
We are always interested in recruiting new editors as well as publishing related material, for instance articles, case law commentary etc., particularly from Greece but also from other jurisdictions. For more information please contact us in the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the members of our Law School staff who are responsible for the LLM in Private International and Comparative Law. They have truly inspired and motivated us for the development of this project. Last but not least, we would also like to thank Dimitrios Anastasopoulos, President of the association e-Themis, whose laborious efforts have contributed significantly to the realisation of savigny.ethemis.gr.
